Iman Shumpert and Teyana Taylor weren’t hunting for every single other, but, serendipitously, they’re each hard to pass up.
It was 2011 when the not long ago drafted NBA rookie and the dancer/model/singer/style muse initial crossed paths at a New York celebration. Taylor, who several yrs prior experienced been feted on My Super Sweet Sixteen, was perched on a railing, needing a respite from her 7-inch Versace heels, when the 6-foot-5 Shumpert strolled over to say hello there.
“He came up to me and attempted to talk to me, but I was in a partnership, so I kinda like…” Taylor recalled on Vlad Television in 2014, miming not becoming tremendous-responsive to her foreseeable future husband’s charms. She did not give him the cold shoulder or anything, she clarified, but “he was turned up, every person was turned up, and I was just like [shrug], ‘OK, thank you.'”
Right after that, the Harlem-born artist would see the New York Knicks guard about and “this dude’s often so turned up, so outspoken, full of temperament,” she reported fondly. But, “I was in my scenario so I by no means paid no thoughts, he was just amazing.”
